At Amber Elephant Performing Arts, we believe that performing is a really rewarding part of learning. Every project gives students the chance to develop their confidence, celebrate their progress and share their creativity with family, friends and the wider community.
Whether it's their first class sharing to parents or performing on a professional stage, every opportunity is designed to help students grow in a supportive and encouraging environment.
At the end of each term, our students share what they've been working on in class with family and friends.
These informal performances are a wonderful way to celebrate progress and give students the chance to perform in a relaxed, familiar setting. Depending on the class, sharings may include:
Drama scenes and plays
Musical theatre numbers
Dance routines
Improvisation performances
Script work and monolouges
Screenings of films or radio plays (See some of these further down this page!)
Original student-created pieces
Singing performances
For many students, these performances are their first experience in front of an audience and are an important step in building confidence and stage presence.
Throughout the year, many of our students have the opportunity to perform at community events across Milton Keynes and the surrounding area.
These performances allow students to entertain live audiences whilst representing Amber Elephant Performing Arts within the local community.
Past events have included:
Big Street Eat Main Stage
Community fairs and summer fetes
Christmas events
Local festivals
Charity performances
Each event gives students valuable performance experience while creating lasting memories and celebrating their achievements.
Our students also have the opportunity to perform in larger showcase productions at professional theatre venues.
These exciting events bring together performers from across our classes to present a variety of drama, dance and musical theatre performances for friends, family and the public.
Previous showcase venues have included:
Milton Keynes Theatre in 2024
Aylesbury Waterside Theatre in 2025
Performing in a professional theatre gives students the chance to experience working on a larger stage, complete with professional lighting, sound and backstage environments. An unforgettable experience for performers of all ages.

Performance doesn't only happen on stage!
Many of our drama classes also take part in exciting film projects throughout the year, giving students the opportunity to experience acting for camera aswell as screen writing, directing and crew roles on our film sets.
Students learn the differences between stage and screen performance whilst developing skills such as:
Acting for camera
Understanding how to use film making equiptment
Learning about camera angles and continuity in filming
Character development for film
Teamwork on set
Directing and crew roles
Writing their own scripts
Our original short films provide students with a unique creative experience and allow them to see their performances come to life on screen.
Whether performing on stage or in front of the camera, our aim is always the same—to help every student build confidence, develop their skills and enjoy the excitement of performing.
